For Clients Who Know
a Bathroom Failure
Is Never Just a Bathroom.
A failed bathroom renovation is a water intrusion event waiting to happen. The decisions made behind the tile — waterproofing, substrate preparation, drain placement — determine whether the space performs correctly for twenty years or requires remediation in five. Our clients understand this. They are not selecting a tile pattern. They are commissioning a wet room engineered to last.

Substrate First
What you cannot see is what matters most.
Every JMR bathroom renovation begins with a properly prepared substrate. Waterproofing is not an afterthought — it is the first construction act after rough plumbing. We do not tile over conditions that will fail.
Material Specification
Selected for longevity, not trend.
We work with clients and their designers to select materials appropriate for wet environments — not just materials that photograph well. Grout selection, tile format, and fixture specification are all evaluated for performance over time.
Trade Expertise
Tile work is a craft. We treat it that way.
The tile and stone installers on JMR bathroom projects have years of documented work at this level. Pattern alignment, grout consistency, and threshold transitions are not variables — they are standards we hold to on every project.
The Process
A Process Built for
Projects That Cannot
Afford Mistakes.
Bathroom renovation is among the most technically demanding residential projects because it combines plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, and finish trades in a compressed space with zero tolerance for sequencing errors. This is how we manage it.
Phase 01
Existing Conditions Assessment
We assess all existing plumbing, electrical, and structural conditions before any specification is written. What is behind the walls determines what is possible — and we establish this before you commit to any design.
Phase 02
Material Specification & Fixture Selection
Every tile, fixture, hardware, and accessory is confirmed in a written specification document. Waterproofing system, substrate type, and drain specification are included — not assumed.
Phase 03
Demolition, Plumbing & Waterproofing
Demolition, rough plumbing relocation, and waterproofing system installation are completed in sequence and inspected before any finish material is installed. The substrate is perfect before the first tile is set.
Phase 04
Tile, Fixtures & Completion
Tile installation, fixture connection, glass enclosure installation, and all finish details are executed against the approved specification. Final inspection includes a water test before handover.
Every JMR project runs on a written schedule with named milestones. If a date shifts, you hear from us before it moves — never after.

What Separates a JMR
Bathroom Remodeling from
Everyone Else's.
Waterproofing is a system, not a product.
Most bathroom failures trace back to inadequate waterproofing — not defective tile. JMR Construction uses a documented waterproofing system on every wet application, inspected before any finish material is installed. This is not optional on our projects.
Filed Standard
Documented waterproofing system on all wet applications. Pre-tile inspection before any finish work begins.
The grout joint is not a detail. It is a discipline.
Tile work quality is visible in the consistency of the joints, the alignment of the pattern, and the precision of every threshold and transition. These are not variables on a JMR project — they are the baseline our installers have maintained for years.
Filed Standard
Long-term tile trade relationships. Pattern and joint specifications confirmed in writing before installation.
Every fixture has a documented installation specification.
Shower valve placement, freestanding tub positioning, and drain alignment are determined by the mechanical rough-in — not adjusted to accommodate what arrived on site. We specify these dimensions before rough plumbing begins.
Filed Standard
Mechanical rough-in specifications documented before plumbing work. No field adjustments without written approval.
The Investment
A Permanent
Architectural Decision.
Not a Line Item.
A JMR bathroom renovation is a permanent improvement to one of the most technically demanding spaces in a residential property. In the Westchester County and Greater New York market, a precision bathroom renovation is among the highest-returning capital improvements available to a homeowner — when executed correctly, on the right substrate, with materials selected for longevity.
Minimum Project Engagement
$150,000
This reflects the scope, material standard, and planning infrastructure required to execute the work correctly. Projects below this threshold are not a fit for our process.

Questions We
Answer First.
If a question about our process, timeline, or qualifications is not answered here, it will be answered in your first conversation with us.
Ask Us DirectlyHow long does a luxury bathroom remodel take in Westchester?
A JMR primary bathroom remodeling project typically runs 6 to 10 weeks from signed contract to final walkthrough, depending on scope, fixture lead times, and whether plumbing relocation is required. We provide a written milestone schedule before any contract is executed.
What does a JMR bathroom remodeling project typically involve?
A JMR bathroom renovation covers the full scope: existing conditions assessment, waterproofing system installation, licensed plumbing and electrical work, tile and stone installation, and fixture integration — all coordinated by a single project manager and documented in a written specification. We work across primary bathrooms, secondary bathrooms, and guest baths. The planning discipline and waterproofing standard are the same regardless of room size.
Do you handle the plumbing and electrical, or do we hire those separately?
JMR Construction coordinates all licensed plumbing and electrical sub-trades as part of a complete bathroom remodeling engagement. You do not manage separate contractors. Every trade on your project is vetted, insured, and familiar with our specification standards.
How do you ensure the waterproofing is done correctly?
We use a documented waterproofing system on every wet application — not a single-product application. The waterproofing is inspected and confirmed before any tile or finish material is installed. This inspection step is non-negotiable on every JMR bathroom project.
What areas do you serve for bathroom remodeling?
JMR Construction provides bathroom remodeling services throughout Westchester County, Rockland County, Orange County, Dutchess County, and all five New York City boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
Can you source the tile and fixtures, or do we supply them?
Either arrangement works. JMR Construction has established relationships with premium tile and fixture suppliers across the Greater New York market and can manage all procurement as part of your project. If you are working with a designer who has specific sourcing relationships, we coordinate directly with them.

What Our Bathroom Remodeling
Clients Say.
The tile work in our primary bathroom is genuinely exceptional — pattern alignment perfect, grout joints consistent even around the niches and threshold. JMR explained their waterproofing system in detail before starting, which gave us real confidence. Completed on the exact schedule they gave us.

Bathroom Remodeling · December 2025
JMR gutted and rebuilt our master bath from the studs. They coordinated the plumber and electrician themselves — we had one contact for the entire project. The result is exactly what we approved in the specification. Clean site every day. No surprises at any stage.
James Morley
Bathroom Remodeling · June 2025
Flo's team installed a walk-in steam shower and completely rebuilt our primary bathroom. Every fixture is exactly where we specified and the glass enclosure alignment is perfect. We've had poor contractor experiences in the past — this was categorically different. Clear communication throughout, clean site every evening.
